Autumn is here, which means it’s the perfect time to create your Halloween treat bag! Join us in a crafting adventure where we'll explore the art of decorating canvas treat bags with potato prints, eraser prints and found object prints, making your autumn treats truly special. With just a dash of imagination and a sprinkle of ingenuity, you can transform plain canvas bags into personalized, nature-inspired masterpieces that capture the essence of this enchanting season. So, gather your supplies, head outdoors to discover nature's treasures, and let's embark on a crafting journey that celebrates the beauty of autumn in every detail.

1. Found Objects Print

Gather Your Supplies:

These are the tools we used to create our Found Objects Printed Treat Bag:

  • Leaves, plants, etc 
  • Paint or printing ink 
  • Paint brush 
  • Canvas bag or paper

Create your Found Objects Printed Treat Bag:

Step 1:

Go on an adventure outside and collect your favorite leaves that have fallen.

Step 2:

Use a paintbrush to brush a thin layer of paint on the bottom side of the leaf (too much paint will cause a misprint).

Step 3:

Practice printing on paper first, and then when ready, print on your canvas bag.

    Step 4:

    TIP: When printing, press firmly on the leaf straight down to get a clean print, moving side to side will cause the leaf imprint to smear

    Let dry and enjoy your treat bag!

    2. Carved Eraser Print

    Gather Your Supplies:

    These are the tools we used to create our Eraser Printed Treat Bag:

    • School erasers 
    • Paint or printing ink 
    • Paint brush 
    • Linoleum Cutter Tools 
    • Canvas bag or paper 
    • Pencil or pen

    Create your Eraser Printed Treat Bag:

    Step 1:

    Draw your design on the eraser (a simple design is best)

    Using a Linoleum Cutter Tool, slowly begin carving around your design, leaving the area you want to be printed.

    Use a paintbrush to brush a thin layer of paint on the eraser (too much paint will cause a misprint).

      Step 4:

      Practice printing on paper first, and then when ready, print on your canvas bag

      3. Potato Print

      Gather Your Supplies:

      These are the tools we used to create our Potato Printed Treat Bag:

      • Potatoes (any size) 
      • Paint or printing ink 
      • Paint brush 
      • Hobby Knife or Kitchen knife 
      • Canvas bag or paper 
      • Pencil or pen

      Create your Potato Printed Treat Bag:

      Step 1:

      Cut a potato evenly in half (long or short ways depending on the print you want to carve)Draw your design on the potatoUse a hobby knife to cut around the design to remove excess potato leaving the area you want to be printed.
